About Purple Sands Massage

My Journey

My journey with Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) began a few years ago when I was exploring different bodywork therapies to support my own healing and wellbeing.

Over the years, I've experienced many types of massage, but nothing has resonated with me quite the same way as AYM. From my very first session, I felt something shift. It wasn't just about easing physical tension; it gave me a sense of connection to myself that I hadn't experienced before.

AYM helped me reconnect with my body and quieten a busy mind. The combination of deep tissue massage, assisted stretches, breathwork and movement felt both grounding and freeing. It became an important part of my own well-being journey, and before long, I knew I wanted to learn more.

My training journey began with Despina Psarra, whose knowledge, intuition and passion for AYM were truly inspiring. Through her teaching, I discovered a practice that felt deeply aligned with who I am and how I wanted to help others.

Where It All Began

Looking back, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage was really the beginning of a much bigger exploration. It opened the door to a deeper understanding of the body, movement, healing and the different ways we can support our wellbeing.

As I continued learning, I felt drawn to other therapies and treatments that complement the same philosophy of care and connection. Each one has added something valuable to my practice and allows me to support clients in different ways, depending on what they need at that moment.

Today, while AYM remains at the heart of what I do, I'm grateful to offer a range of treatments that help people feel more relaxed, balanced, and connected to themselves.

Listening, Learning and Expanding

As my practice grew, I started to notice that not everyone was looking for a full-body massage. Some people were short on time, some felt uncomfortable with the idea of undressing for a treatment, and others simply wanted something focused on relieving stress and tension without having a traditional massage.

Listening to what people were asking for led me to explore additional therapies that could offer the sense of relaxation and wellbeing in a different way.

This is what brought me to Indian Head Massage and Onsite Chair Massage.

Indian Head Massage is a wonderfully accessible treatment that focuses on areas where many of us hold stress and tension—the head, neck, shoulders and upper back. It can be deeply calming while also helping you feel more energised and clear-headed.

Onsite Chair Massage offers many of the benefits of massage in a practical, fully clothed treatment. Using a specially designed massage chair, it provides focused work on the back, shoulders, neck and arms without the need for oils or for clients to undress. It's ideal for people who may feel hesitant about traditional massage or simply prefer a more accessible approach.

For me, these therapies are a natural extension of the same philosophy that first drew me to Ayurvedic Yoga Massage: helping people feel more comfortable in their bodies, less burdened by stress, and more connected to themselves.

Coming Soon...
One thing I've learned on this journey is that there's always more to discover. The more I work with people, the more curious I become about the different ways we can support healing, relaxation and wellbeing.
That's why I'm currently training in Thai Hand & Foot Massage and Cupping Therapy. I'm looking forward to adding these beautiful treatments to my practice soon and offering even more ways to help you feel your best.

Our Approach

Whatever treatment you choose, I take the time to see you as a whole person rather than a set of symptoms or areas of tension. Our physical wellbeing, emotional wellbeing and daily lives are all connected, and I believe treatments should reflect that.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage embodies this philosophy beautifully. Each session is tailored to your individual needs and can be both dynamic and deeply relaxing. Combining oil massage, assisted stretches, breathwork and movement, AYM works with the whole person, helping to release physical and emotional tension, improve posture, increase energy and support overall wellbeing.

During the treatment, I use Acorus Calamus powder, a traditional Ayurvedic herb that gently stimulates the skin and encourages circulation, enhancing the benefits of the massage. For those seeking the deeper, cumulative benefits of AYM, regular sessions every four to six weeks are often recommended.

The same personalised approach carries through all the treatments I offer. Whether you come for Indian Head Massage, Onsite Chair Massage, or one of the new therapies being added to my practice, the focus remains the same: creating a treatment that meets you where you are, supports what your body needs, and helps you leave feeling more balanced, relaxed and connected to yourself.
